Adding Banks & Accounts
Overview
JoinFunds organises your finances by bank and account. Each bank can hold multiple accounts (current, savings, credit card), and each account tracks its own currency and transactions. This guide covers adding banks, creating accounts, and managing your account list.
Add your first bank and account
Open the Add Account dialog
Go to Accounts in the sidebar and click the Add Account button. This opens the unified dialog that handles both bank and account creation in one flow.
Select your bank
Start typing your bank name in the search field. JoinFunds includes a typeahead list of 29 UK banks — from high-street names like Barclays and HSBC to digital banks like Monzo, Revolut, and Starling. Select your bank from the results.
Name the account and choose currency
Give your account a descriptive name — for example, "Joint Current" or "Savings ISA". The currency defaults to GBP but you can switch to EUR or RON for multi-currency accounts (common with Revolut or Wise).
Save and add another
Click Save to create the account. If you have more accounts to add, use the Add Another option to stay in the dialog and add the next account straight away — no need to reopen it each time.
Managing your accounts
Nationwide Current
GBP · 142 transactions
Revolut EUR
EUR · 28 transactions
Your accounts page shows all accounts grouped by bank, with balances and transaction counts. You can edit account names, change visibility settings, or delete accounts you no longer need.
Starter plan users can add up to 3 accounts. Upgrade to Plus for unlimited accounts across as many banks as you need.
Multi-currency accounts
For EUR or RON accounts, JoinFunds automatically converts transaction amounts to GBP using current exchange rates. Your dashboard and budgets always show figures in GBP so you get a unified view of your household finances.
