Bank Export Guides2 min readUpdated March 2026

Overview

HSBC offers CSV exports from online banking. JoinFunds supports two HSBC formats: the current format and the legacy format. Both are auto-detected during import.

Online banking (web)

Log in to HSBC Online Banking

Go to hsbc.co.uk and log in with your Digital Secure Key or other authentication method.

Navigate to your account

Select the account you want to export from your accounts overview.

View previous statements

Click Previous statements or Transaction history. Select the date range using the filter options.

Download as CSV

Click the Download button and select CSV format. Your file will download automatically.

Mobile app

Open the HSBC UK app

Open the HSBC UK Mobile Banking app and log in with biometrics or your security code.

Select account and export

Tap your account, then tap Statements. Choose the statement period and tap Download or Share as CSV.

HSBC format notes

HSBC has changed their CSV format over time. JoinFunds handles both:

  • HSBC (current): Newer format with structured columns
  • HSBC Legacy: Older format with different column ordering

Both are automatically detected. You do not need to choose between them.

If you have both current accounts and credit cards with HSBC, export each one separately. JoinFunds treats each account individually.
